Your privacy matters to us. When you shop with Charlotte & Sage, you trust us with your details, and we take that trust seriously. This policy explains in plain words what information we collect, how we use it and how we keep it safe, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What information do we collect?

Your details. Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.

Your orders. The pieces you buy, your order history and any messages you send to our customer care team.

Your payment. Payments are handled directly by our secure payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.

Technical information. Your IP address, browser, device and how you move around our website.

How do we use your information?

We use your information to prepare, pack and deliver your order and keep you updated along the way. It also helps us answer your questions and assist you with returns, exchanges and finding the right size. We use it to improve our website, our pieces and the care we offer you, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.

We only send you news, new arrivals and special offers if you have chosen to receive them.

Who do we share it with?

We will never sell or trade your personal information. We only share it with the partners who help us run our boutique, and only so they can do the job we ask of them.

Our store platform and payment providers make sure your order is processed safely. Our suppliers and delivery partners prepare, pack and deliver your parcel. Our email and customer care tools let us send you updates and answer your messages. Our analytics and advertising partners help us understand how our website is performing.

Each of these partners is required to protect your information and may only use it to provide their service to us.

Is my information shared overseas?

Some of our partners are located outside Australia. Our website and email platforms are hosted in the United States and the European Union, and many of the suppliers who prepare and send your order are located in China. This means your name, delivery address and order details may be stored or handled overseas.

Whenever we share your information outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to a standard similar to that required by the Privacy Act 1988.

What are my privacy rights?

Access. You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.

Correction. You can ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading.

Deletion. You can ask us to delete your information when we are not legally required to keep it.

Marketing. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time, using the link in any email or by contacting us.

Anonymity. You can deal with us without giving your name where this is lawful and practical. Of course, we cannot deliver an order without a name and address.

Complaints. You can make a complaint about how we have handled your information, and contact the regulator if you are not happy with our response.

How long do we keep your information?

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it to look after your orders, support you and meet our legal, tax and record keeping obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

How do we keep your information safe?

We use secure systems and encryption to protect your information at every step, and only the people who need it to do their work can access it. No online system can ever be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we do everything we reasonably can to keep your details safe.

If a data breach ever happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will let you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner know, as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Do we use cookies?

Our website uses cookies to remember your preferences, keep your cart working and help us understand how our store is used. You can accept or decline them, and you can delete or block them in your browser settings at any time. Please note that some parts of our website may not work properly without them. What about children?

Our website and our pieces are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has shared their details with us, please let us know and we will delete them.

Will this policy change?

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the version shown here is always the current one.
